Quick Snacks

Many times we need to be out of the house and having snacks to bring along helps keep energy levels up.

My aim for having snacks is ones with no sugar, dyes, processed, and as close to nature. Our goal, is to provide steady nutrition even in snacks.

Grab some of these snacks next time to keep you going.

  1. Homemade Granola

This is a family favorite recipe we like when we want to eat it with yogurt.

  • 2 cups of Organic Extra Thick Rolled Oats

  • 1/4 cup of Sliced Almonds

  • 3/4 cup of Unsweetened Coconut Flakes

  • 3/4 cup Walnuts

  • 2/3 cup of Oregon Pumpkin Seeds

  • 4 TBL of Unsalted Butter (melted and cooled)

  • 3 TBL Coconut Oil (room Temperature)

  • 1/2 Cup of Raw Honey

  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt

  • 1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon Powder

  1. Gather all ingredients. Have a Cast iron baking pan with parchment paper on top.

  2. Put all ingredients on parchment paper and gently incorporate together until well mixed. Make sure to not make too thin a layer.

  3. Set oven temperature to 325 degrees and wait for preheat.

  4. Bake in center rack for 15 mins and stir the Granola around.

  5. Return to oven and bake for another 10 mins or golden brown on top.

  6. Remove from oven and wait to cool. The granola will harden after an hour.

I recommend if you are in a time crunch or have no way to make it homemade, then looking at the labels on products that have minimal ingredients, that are organic, and also includes no added preservatives, like citric acid.
